The Truleigh Hill Walk is a gentle gradient stroll through the South Downs. Take in the beautiful views atop Truleigh Hill that look out over West Sussex. You will also have views of Thunders Barrow and will walk along Monarchs Way, which retraces the escape route steps of King Charles II when he was defeated in the Battle of Worcester in 1651.
Getting there
To get to the Truleigh Hill Walk from Steyning, head southwest on Wykeham Cl toward High Street and take A283 to Erringham Road in Shoreham-by-Sea. In 4.8mi, follow Mill Hill to South Downs Way. You will reach your destination in 3.4mi.

The Truleigh Hill Walk is a wonderful stroll that takes you along Monarchs Way. This was the same route used by King Charles II when he fled after being defeated in the Battle of Worcester in 1651. You will also get the chance to explore the Thunders Barrow, along with stunning views of the South Downs National Park. When you get to the top of Truleigh Hill after a gentle climb, you will be able to see beautiful views of West Sussex that go on for miles into the distance.
