Selborne and Noar Hill Walk Description

The Selborne and Noar Hill Walk located in East Sussex is a relaxing mixture of woodland areas and open meadows filled with wildflowers. This path is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon walk and take a stroll through the Noar Hill Nature Reserve. This area is well known for its association with Gilbert White, a naturalist in the 18th century who wrote ‘The Natural History of Selborne’.

To begin the walk, head to the northern edge of South Downs National Park and go south through the forest, following the path until you reach Noar Hill Nature Reserve. During the summer, this area is filled with vibrant wildflowers in the meadows. Continue on through Selborne Common, the area known from Gilbert White, and follow the zigzag path down to the entrance of the path and take in the spectacular surrounding views. At the end of the trail, loop back to the trailhead where you began the walk to complete the route.
