Devil Dykes Pub Walk Description
The Devil Dykes Pub Walk is a wonderful place to experience the English countryside. With meadows blanketed with wild flowers in the summer months, sheep and cattle frolicking in the fields and the valley below, this path makes for a splendid day out. Although it’s a pleasant walk, there are several stiles and gates to navigate as well as a narrow exposed ridge, an area where it’s important to take extra caution if walking with kids. Beginning at the Devil Dykes Pub car park, head onto the stone path and shortly you will see glimpses of the valley below.
Walking through haw bushes, you will come to a bridge that you must cross that stands over a river. Continue on and you will arrive in the quaint village of Poynings, which has a very small population and holds the South Downs National Park Authority. As you keep walking, on a clear day you will be able to see the Surrey Hills as well as the Isle of Wight. Continue on the path until you reach the same area where the walk began.
