Vultee Arch Trail Description
The Vultee Arch Trail is an enjoyable 3.6mi hike in the Secret Mountain Wilderness that leads you to a red sandstone arch. This area combines the red rock desert of Sedona with the forests that spring up just north of town, making it a pretty area to discover.
Please note that you’ll need a high-clearance vehicle to access this trail. You won’t be able to make it to the trailhead in a standard passenger car. Expect moderate to heavy traffic on this route.
From the trailhead, head east on the Vultee Arch Trail, which follows the Sterling Canyon Creek. It’s a fairly straight shot for most of the trail. Just after the point at which the creek splits, the trail forks. Stay left and cross the creek to find the arch. Snap photos and stroll across the top if you’re feeling surefooted.
From here, it’s back to the trailhead on the same route.
