We have the perfect excuse for you to escape into the wilderness, the Allenspark Trail via Wild Basin Trailhead Hike! Adventure through the lush Colorado woodlands, past cascading waterfalls, granite outcroppings and over to the Allenspark Trail. This scenic adventure can be a one-way hike if you leave a car at the Allenspark Trailhead or arrange for pickup! If not, no worries, it is an epic there-and-back experience. Note the parking at the Wild Basin Trailhead fills up fast, so arrive early to secure a spot! Don’t forget that a Rocky Mountain National Park pass is required!
Departing from the Wild Basin parking lot, the Allenspark Trail via Wild Basin Trailhead Hike track southwest. Hike along the N St. Vrain Creek and past not one, but three Copeland waterfalls. Hike through the woodlands and past the cascades to the Pine Ridge dispersed campsites. Here, you will confront a junction. Turn left, and you will be guided up to the Calypso Cascades. Enjoy the ambiance of the cascading water and the mesmerizing sights. From here, veer left, and you will be diverted onto the Allenspark Trail.
Hike the Allenspark Trail through meadows, past granite outcroppings and beneath tree coverage. Eventually, you will encounter the Allenspark Trailhead, this is your turnaround point. To get back to the Wild Basin Trailhead, simply retrace your steps along the route back to the trailhead.
