Jedediah Smith River Trail Description

The Jedediah Smith River Trail is a wonderful adventure along the banks of the Smith River amongst redwoods. Indulge in the beauty of the primeval forest and explore the diversity of flora and fauna. Running along the riverside, this trek boasts the perfect opportunity to birdwatch and spot frogs hidden in the undergrowth. Note there are several roots that obstruct the path, so mind your footing to avoid a rolled ankle!

Setting our from the trailhead, the Jedediah Smith River Trail travels northwest along the river. Hiking along the banks, you will be rewarded with the relaxing sounds of the gurgling waters and the beautiful scenery of the river. As you trek further into the forestlands be sure to look up, and you will be overwhelmed by the enormity of the towering redwoods. Nearing the trail’s end, the route will guide you over a charming footbridge atop Cedar Creek.
