Difficulty Rating:
This trail is most often used by mountain bikers and dirt bikers, but hikers are welcome to try it out, too. Expect an easy hike out to Pyramid Peak and back. The desert scenery is pleasant and you feel far outside of the city without needing to actually go far, but you will need to rely on GPS navigation to find your way unless your route-finding is strong. Expect light traffic.

Pyramid Peak Loop Description
You’ll definitely see more bikers than hikers on this route, but it’s open to foot traffic and enjoyable to explore for its separation from the noise and action of the city. You’ll hike out into the desert, loop Pyramid Peak, and head back. It’s never very busy out here, so enjoy a little bit of solitude.
This hike is not marked and the trail is not well-defined in many areas. We strongly suggest bringing a GPS route to refer to. Additionally, keep your eyes and ears open for mountain bike and dirt bike traffic.
From the trailhead, the route heads out into the desert on flat terrain. You’ll see little dirt jumps for bikes as you go. At the split of the loop, stay left and head all the way around Pyramid Peak. Once you make it back to the base of the loop, retrace your steps back to the trailhead.
