Longshaw Estate Burbage Brook Trail Description

Once used by the Duke of Rutland to host shooting parties, the grounds that now make up the Longshaw Estate Burbage Brook Trail are a beautiful mix of forest, farms, and moorland terrain that has become a popular family-friendly destination for nature walks. Setting out from the car park, make your way west along the trail to pass by the Longshaw Lodge and across the open terrain towards a small reservoir. From here, you will walk along the edge of Granby Wood before passing by the Granby Discover Barn where you can learn about the history and wildlife of the estate. After crossing the lane, follow closely along the flowing waters of Burbage Brook to the north before the trail turns south to eventually arrive back at the car park where you started.
