Crowden to Bleaklow Trail Description

The Crowden to Bleaklow Circular Trail might not be as popular a route as some of the others that set out from the Crowden Campsite, but that doesn’t mean that it is any less scenic. From the campsite, make your way west along the foot of the hill to eventually reach the edge of the Torside Reservoir. From here, make your way over the dam wall and enjoy the pleasant views across the water before beginning the uphill climb alongside Torside Clough. After the steep uphill climb, traverse the moorland terrain to the east to eventually arrive at the summit of Bleaklow Head. From this elevated vantage point, you will have a breathtaking view overlooking the rugged terrain of the Peak District, as well as Longdendale and its many reservoirs in the valley below. After taking in the views, continue to the northeast to descend the hillside along Near Black Clough before following the waters of the River Etherow and Woodhead Reservoir to the west. Once you meet up with the road, cross over to the other side and walk to the northwest to arrive back at the campsite where you began.
