The Barber Booth and Edale Head Walk is a great walking route in one of the most picturesque parts of the Peak District, as you will have scenic views that stretch out across the Hope Valley. While out on the trail, you will traverse the rolling green hills and rugged peaks that this region is known for, including those within Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve. Parts of this route are quite rugged, with stretches of rocky and boggy terrain that are sure to keep you on your toes. Make sure to wear some good walking boots for this one!
Getting there
To reach the Barber Booth and Edale Head trailhead from Edale, drive southwest along Edale Road for 0.8mi and turn right. Continue on for 0.2mi and make a slight right to cross over the railway lines. You will find parking on the left in 0.2mi.

Barber Booth and Edale Head Trail Description
The Barber Booth and Edale Head Trail in Peak District National Park is a great walking circuit that will expose you to a variety of terrain including open tracts of farmlands, rugged moors, undulating hills, and peaceful riverside settings. The route partially passes through Kinder Scout National Nature Reserve, meaning you will likely see some increased foot traffic. Be sure to arrive early to secure parking.
Setting out from the car park, the trailhead is to the northwest and crosses over the River Noe to pass by Upper Booth Farm. After making your way through the valley along Crowden Brook, you will turn west to climb uphill through the moor and enter into Kinder Scout NNR. Take in the breathtaking views that stretch across Hope Valley to The Great Ridge, as you make your way south along the moor to eventually descend the hillside. From here, you will cut across picturesque fields until you arrive back at the car park where you began the walk.
