The Trail of the Cedars is a 1.7mi easy hike in North Cascades National Park. This hike is suitable for all ages and skill levels and presents no challenges to consider. Dogs are allowed on this trail but must be kept on a leash. The hike features a pretty rainforest with old cedars and the Skagit River beside you. It’s also an easy outing if you’re staying at the Newhalem Creek Campground nearby.

The trailhead for the Trail of the Cedars is on the road that cuts horizontally through Loop C of the Newhalem Creek Campground.

Trail of the Cedars Hike Description
The Trail of the Cedars is a scenic easy hike suitable for most adventurers. This walk features a vibrant forest and the Skagit River. Dogs are allowed on this trail as long as they’re on a leash.
Begins by heading east through Loop C of the campground. The trail traverses over the creek, and then you’ll want to stay straight at the first junction. Walk up near the river, enjoying the sound of the flowing water and the impressive trees in the forest. There are interpretive signs posted along the trail to educate you about the area. The trail ends at the next river crossing.
Turn around here and head back to the campground where you started.
