Rock Shelter Trail Description
Rock Shelter Trail is an easy hike about 2.0mi long that takes you from Newhalem into the forest. You’ll enjoy the Skagit River and the natural rock shelters. This hike gives you the chance to extend your walk if you want.
Begin in Newhalem, crossing the Skagit River and taking an immediate right. Walk to a left turn just before Newhalem Creek. From here, you’ll meander through the trees near the creek, enjoying the forest and the rocks. When you’re ready, you’ll return to town by following the same route you took to get here, or you can keep exploring using other nearby paths.
