Howard Lake via PCT Description
Howard Lake via PCT is a moderate hike with a consistent, steady incline to a small lake. This hike can be completed quickly and offers a nice peaceful break in nature. The trail sees lots of horse traffic, which can make the footing uneven. Walk carefully.
Begin from the campground, following the PCT signage and hiking past the facilities before beginning a steady incline over switchbacks. You’ll get a view of the lake from the trall but there is a spur trail you can take to get closer to the water if you wish.
From the viewpoint, turn back and retrace your steps. If you want to make this into a 4-mile loop, you can take the Old Wagon Trail just beyond the lake.
