The Brimham Rocks and Moor Walk is a natural phenomenon that was created over 320 years ago, where rocks were sculpted by ice, wind and continental shifts. Along the path, you will have the chance to see formations such as the Turtle, Dancing Bear, the Writing Desk, the Mushroom and the Sphinx. Past the rock formations lie incredible views that span as far as the eye can see.
Getting there
To get to the Brimham Rocks and Moor Walk from Harrogate, head south on Prospect Place toward Albert Street and turn right at the 1st cross street onto Albert Street. Turn right onto W Park/A61, and at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Ripon Road/A61. At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto B6165 and turn right onto Brimham Rocks Road. In 2.1mi, you will arrive at your destination.

Brimham Rocks and Moor Walk Description
The Brimham Rocks and Moor Walk is an amazing place to discover the wonders of nature. Beginning at the car park, follow the stone path through the amazing rock formations that were created over 320 years ago. Continuing on, you will see a platform which is called Surprise View and showcases views across Nidderdale. When you are finished taking in the views, you will see rock formations that have holes through them, which is known as Cannon Rock and further along, you will see Oak Tree Rock.
As you wander on, you will come across Brimham House, a visitor centre and just on the left, you will see another vantage point, where you can look out across the captivating rock formations such as Turtle Rock, Watchdog Rock and Writers Desk. Following the path, you will pass Idol Rock, which is said to be the most spectacular of all of the rock formations, and it is followed by another slab where a viewpoint sits and looks out over Dallowgill Moor. Eventually, you will also pass Moorland Edge to Mushroom Rock and then onto Hare Heads. Nidderdale Way will then appear, and you will follow this back to the beginning of the path as this is a circular walk.
