Marten Lake Trail

Marten Lake provides a lovely payoff for a reasonable amount of effort and offers a less busy experience than many other hikes in the area. Finding the trailhead can be a bit challenging so we recommend referring to your GPS track, but there are several trails that converge, making the risk of going the wrong way minimal.

The first 3.0mi or so from the trailhead are mostly level and straightforward. In areas where the trail is less obvious, look for flagging tape. Around 4.0mi, the trail becomes very rooty, so watch your step.

Upon reaching the lake, you can find a nice lounging spot or go for a swim. When you’re ready to return, take the same route, keeping an eye on your GPS to stay on the right path.
