Banishead Quarry Walk Description

Although it is fairly short, the Banishead Quarry Walk is a beautifully scenic route that is a real gem in the Lake District, allowing you to take in some breathtaking scenery while avoiding the throngs of tourists and other walkers on busier trails. The route sets out from Torver and climbs uphill through stretches of light forest and open terrain along Torver Beck to arrive at the Banishead Quarry. Here, you can explore the shores of the aptly-named Banishead Quarry Tarn and its stunningly beautiful waterfall before taking in the amazing views of the Old Man of Coniston, as well as several other fells that are situated to the north. After taking in the views, retrace your footsteps back to the trailhead where you began.
