Route Description for Bosan
Get to the Panga Bus Park by taking a bus from the Ratna Park bus Stop. You’ll reach the Panga Bus Park in 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic. From here, head southwest from Panga and walk through a network of alleyways lined with traditional homes of the Newar people, offering insight into daily customs You’ll likely see locals working stone grinders while they prepare food for the community, an ancient practice that is fascinating to witness.
After walking 1.2mi, take a left at the fork and find your way down the path to your next village in Kirtipur, Lanagol. Head south from here and follow the narrow trail to a large water source—the perfect spot where locals collect water, take baths, and wash their clothes.
Next, take a right and continue on the narrow trail. Upon reaching what seems to be the end of the trail, you’ll see a small path. Head down this path and begin to ascend up the hill that’s right next to a lone tree.
The climb from this point takes you along a narrow tree-lined trail for close to 1312ft until you arrive at the summit. Take in the all-encompassing vistas from this vantage point of the Kathmandu Valley, relishing the unique view of Kirtipur, with its scattered settlements shrunk to the size of matchboxes. If the weather is clear, you’ll have the pleasure of encountering stunning views of mountain ranges—Gauri Shankar, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and with luck, you’ll spot the Annapurna mountains when there are no clouds—as you walk.
Relax and enjoy the break, savoring the view and snapping those essential photos before heading back on the same route you came.
