Getting there
To get to Dawson Pass Trail from East Glacier Park Village, head West on Midvale Street toward MT-49 North and turn right. Turn left onto Two Medicine Road and after 7.1mi turn right and continue onto Loop a Road. Turn left onto Loop B Road and arrive at your destination.

Dawson Pass Trail Description
The Dawson Pass Trail is an amazing journey through the mountains that will definitely get your heart pumping. This is a challenging trail and is reserved for more experienced hikers. The hike begins at the North Shore Trailhead, and there is an option to take a boat ride to shave off 4.0mi. After the boat ride, it is a relatively flat hike. But when you arrive at the Dawson Pass Trail junction, the climbing begins. Continue to follow the signs for Dawson Pass Trail and get ready to summit the pass at 4.7mi, where you’ll find yourself at the Continental Divide between Flinsh Peak and Mt. Helen, which creates Dawson Pass Trail.
As this hike is challenging and unpredictable, make sure to be prepared as Dawson Pass Trail is known for its cold and strong winds, so a warmer sweater or wind breaker and trekking poles are recommended.
