Whether you are a beginner hiker, seasoned outdoor enthusiast, or young family with a few children in tow, the Beaver Ponds 516 Trail is the perfect hiking route near Crested Butte that is suitably for all ages and skill levels.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the west and begin climbing up the gently switchbacking trail as it cuts through the forest. Take some time to appreciate the natural beauty of the woodland setting here, as you work your way past mature trees and keep an eye out for any wildlife that may be present in the area.
Eventually, you will arrive at a series of small woodland ponds set against the backdrop of the slopes of Ohio Peak. After exploring this lovely area, you will head back down the trail on the return leg to your vehicle, having completed the Beaver Ponds 5167 Trail.
