Walking the South West Coast Path: Swanage to Haven Point is a beautifully scenic and somewhat joyous experience, as it covers the final leg of the famous 630.0mi long national trail, the South West Coast Path. While out on the trail, you will leave Swanage behind and traverse the final stretch of the Dorset coast, as you make your way through the Studland and Godlingston Heath NNR on the way to the endpoint at a ferry crossing. While the previous sections of the trail are fairly long and arduous, this segment is moderate in length and features little elevation gain, making for an easy finish to a physically demanding journey.

To get to the South West Coast Path: Swanage to Haven Point trailhead from the Swanage rail station, head southeast on Station Road for 0.1mi and turn left to arrive at the starting point of the walk.

It is only fitting that the last segment of the physically challenging, 630.0mi long endurance walk known as the South West Coast Path is an easy one. This portion of the trail from Swanage to Haven Point features little elevation gain and is only 7.4mi in overall length, allowing you to appreciate the views across the water as you complete the final leg of this arduous walk. Whether you have already completed the entirety of the South West Coast Path or are planning to complete this as a day-walk, remember to wear proper walking boots and make your travel arrangements in advance of completing this one-way trail, or else you will need to walk the full distance back into Swanage.

Setting out from the trailhead, you will make your way to the north along the beautiful sands of Swanage Beach, before climbing uphill atop the Ballard Cliffs for a gorgeous sightline overlooking the English Channel. After rounding The Foreland and taking in the views of the Old Harry Rocks, you will turn to the west to walk the shores of Studland Bay. Here, you will continue along the lovely beach as you traverse the final stretch of the walk through the Studland and Godlingston Heath National Nature Reserve, taking in some final seaside views as you arrive at the terminus of the South West Coast Path.
