Cockington Devon Walk Description

Due to its popularity as a scenic walking route and its location on the edge of the city, the Cockington Devon Walk is a busy trail that will require you to arrive early if you want to secure parking. Other than that, the pathways through the grounds are well-maintained and easy to navigate, making them more than suitable for a great family outing.

Setting out from the car park, you will follow the road to the west to make your way along the edge of the Cockington Country Park towards Cockington Court. This historic manor house is now home to numerous ventures, including craft workshops, a tea room, and an art gallery. Continue to the northwest and follow the path as it loops around Cary’s Orchard, turning to the southwest along Lady Park. Here, you will make your way back towards the east and pass by the Church of St George and St Mary, as well as the manor house on the way back toward the car park. Instead of following the same route back, follow the lane on the right to explore a different part of the country park, passing through the village to arrive at the trailhead.
