This lovely route is a popular weekend escape, notably in the summer months, so be forewarned; you will likely be sharing the path with several other like-minded adventurers. Though less busy than most trails in the park, it is still a very popular nature walk! Head out in the morning to avoid the crowds and beat the heat!

Departing from the trailhead, your epic journey along the Lion Trail and Hogback Valley Trail follows the Red Rock Rim Trail northeast. At the end of the trail, take a sharp left turn to be diverted onto the 26th Street Trail, which will quickly merge into the Hogback Valley Trail.
