The Panorama Point Trail is a very short hike to an incredible viewpoint. This trail is flat and family-friendly. From the viewpoint, you will be able to look out over the incredible sandstone cliffs of Capitol Reef National Park. For an especially spectacular experience, try this hike at sunset to see the desert lit up in shades of pink and gold.
Getting there
This hike begins at the Panorama Point overlook, just over 2.0mi northwest of the Capitol Reef Visitors Center on highway 24.

Panorama Point Trail Description
The Panorama Point Trail is a beautiful hike just up the road from the Capitol Reef Visitors Center. This trail does not have any shade, so make sure you wear sunscreen and a good sunhat. The views from Panorama Point are absolutely breathtaking. This is a great spot to go with loved ones and watch the sunset after a long day exploring Capitol Reef National Park.
From the trailhead, follow the short path to Panorama Point Overlook.
Soak in the incredible view from the overlook before heading back to the trailhead. If you are keen, there is a short trail that continues south from Panorama Point to the Gooseneck Overlook and Sunset Point.
