Station Creek Trail

The Station Creek Trail is one of the many incredible hiking routes in the Boise National Forest that showcases the beauty of Idaho. This tireless climb will get your heart rate up, but the astounding mountain views are well worth the sweat! Ideal for intermediate hikers and ambitious families with older children, it is wise to pack plenty of water to stay hydrated during the ascent. Note that much of the path is exposed, so SPF is always a good idea!

Setting out from the trailhead, your adventure up the mountainside tracks northeastwardly. Mind your footing on the rocky, single-track path as you admire the beauty of the arrowleaf balsamroot patches that line the route. After some hiking, you will reach a switchback; beyond this point, the terrain will become increasingly exposed, offering interrupted views of the nearby mountain through the tree breaks.

Taking pauses as needed, you will ultimately reach the trail’s end, which culminates in an exposed meadow. The expansive vistas of the mountainscape will astound you. Take the time to appreciate the grandeur of the landscape, then head back down the path to the trailhead.
