Trail Description:

The Grand Canyon Track in Blue Mountains National Park is a popular, must-do hiking adventure in Australia. This Grand Canyon Track travels through a World Heritage-listed area, making it all the more worthwhile to lace up your shoes and tackle this short, moderately challenging excursion. Before hitting up the trail, check for closures along the path here. Also, the area is prone to wet weather and flooding! So get ready for a high chance of wet feet. Another thing to note is that you’ll have to leave your pups at home. Unfortunately, they are not allowed on this trail.

Thankfully, the Grand Canyon Track is an easy-to-follow hike, allowing you to revel in Greaves Creek, cutting through ancient sandstone walls. You will get to admire the sandstone walls and the lush green setting accentuated by ferns and waterfalls. Lastly, the views overlooking Grose Valley will make you reach for your camera and click away!

You’ll follow the Grand Canyon Track, heading clockwise, from the Evans Lookout Parking Area. Step right into the soaring sandstone walls and enjoy immediate gratification in your decision to hike today! Almost immediately, you’ll pass Evans Lookout. Stop here to admire the views before continuing along the Grand Canyon Track.

You’ll reach a photo opportunity at the Grand Canyon about halfway around the loop. Pause here to snap more photos before continuing around back towards the trailhead. Eventually, the path will run parallel to Evans Lookout Road.

You’ll know you’re almost back to where you started when you pass the Grand Canyon Picnic Area!
