Linkins Lake Trail Description

The Linkins Lake Trail is a wonderful family-friendly adventure through the Hunter-Fryingpan Wilderness. Traveling through brush fields and meadows abundant with wildflowers up to the crystalline alpine bounded by towering craggy cliffs, there is certainly no shortage of scenery along this trail. Though the exposed terrain warrants epic views, it also guarantees extremely hot conditions in the summer months, so dress accordingly and bring plenty of water!

Departing from the Lost Man Loop Trailhead, the Linkins Lake Hike follows the Lost Man Loop Trail northwest. Enjoy the sights of the encompassing mountainous landscape, as you trek through the meadowlands and wander along a route that will reward you with views of small cascades that pour over the rocks in the alpine streams. As you enjoy the relaxing sounds of the running waters, you will eventually confront an intersection. Here, keep left and you will be diverted onto the Linkins Lake Trail which will guide you up to the picturesque lake.

Explore the shoreline of Linkins Lake, a stunning pool that reflects sights of the bounding snow-dusted cliffs. Revel in the scenery of the alpine lake and rejuvenate your feet in the frigid waters before beginning your return. When you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
