Yoho National Park
A holiday to Yoho National Park has all the hiking, biking, skiing, and adventure of Banff or Jasper, yet it is often overlooked by the crowds. Yoho is adjacent to Banff National Park, and because it is located on the western slope of the continental divide, is lusher and greener as well. If you are planning a trip to western Canada, be sure to add Yoho National Park to the list!
Yoho National Park has activities for all seasons, however we prefer it in the summer or winter when the weather is more stable. That said, the best larch viewing in Autumn is at the incredible Lake O’Hara.
If you do want to avoid the majority of the crowds and take a trip to Yoho in the fall or spring, it is completely doable, just be prepared for any type of weather to blow in or out at a moment’s notice.
Outside of the many adventure opportunities in the park (hiking, biking, rafting, snowshoeing, ski touring etc.) a trip to Yoho should include stops at Emerald Lake and Takkakaw Falls. If you can get a sought-after reservation, a trip to Lake O’Hara is sublime at any time of the year.
We hope you enjoy your time in Yoho as much as we have!
