Blayney Meadow Hot Spring Hike Description

We love a good hike with a reward, and this trek checks that box. After wandering through the woodlands and navigating the technical terrain, you can decompress in the San Joaquin River. If you are hoping to complete this route as a day hike, then we suggest you head out early to beat the sunset. Additionally, we encourage you to dress in layers as the ever-changing terrain warrants ever-changing conditions. Don’t forget to pack your swimsuit so you can enjoy the hot springs!

Embark on your adventure along the Blayney Meadow Hot Spring Hike from the Florence Lake Trailhead. From here, follow the Florence Lake Trail along the shoreline cliffs of the shimmering alpine lake. Wandering through woodlands adorned with granite outcrops, you will intersect with several snowmelt streams. Following the Florence Lake Trail, you will eventually cross over the San Joaquin River before hiking through Double Meadow and into Blayney Meadow.

Once you finally reach the Muir Trail Ranch, you will divert southwest back over the San Joaquin River to the hot springs. Hop into the warm pool and marvel in the beauty of the encompassing wilderness—from the river, bounding cliffs, meadowlands, and lush vegetation. After enjoying the springs, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
