Conveniently located and incredibly scenic, you really can’t beat this trail.

The Red Rocks and Morrison Slide Extended Loop is an awesome adventure that will please all of its adventurers. This lovely trail travels through the unique rock walls that line the city’s boundary, make sure to pack your camera because this trek is incredible. Note there are some technical and rocky segments of the trail, so wear sturdy footwear. It is also worth noting that there are rattlesnakes in the area, so be mindful of them as you trek.
Embark on your adventure from the Red Rocks Trailhead. From here, track northwest up the Red Rocks Trail. Shortly after your departure, you will encounter an intersection. Here, keep right along the Red Rocks Trail. This path will guide you below a ridge, revealing wonderful views of the Dakota Hogback Ridge. Eventually, you will confront another intersection, keep right here. Trek this route and at the next junction, veer left onto the Cherry Gulch Trail.
This path will shortly merge onto the Morrison Slide Trail. Navigate a set of switchbacks up to the top of the sandstone ridge. Be careful of your footing as you trek along the ridge. As you hike, you will be rewarded with views of the Red Rocks Park and amphitheater below. Eventually, you will descend a set of switchbacks to the intersection with the Red Rocks Trail. From here, keep right and track southeast back to the trailhead.
