The Lee Lateral Ditch Trail is undeniably fun, but it is also scenic. Enjoy views of the cityscape, the lush trees that line the path, and the gurgling waters of the Lee Lateral Ditch. Whether you are seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city or you’re in need of an excuse to get the family out into the fresh air, this adventure is perfect. Level, well-maintained, and well-signposted, this trail is easy and accessible to adventurers of almost all capabilities.

Embark on your adventure along the Lee Lateral Ditch Trail from the York Street Parking Lot. From here, track east along the Lee Lateral Ditch Trail. Hike along the bank of the ditch, passing Lake Village Park which has a green space and play structure. Continue hiking the trail, passing a unique tree carving, carved by chainsaw. Follow the route east and you will eventually encounter Cottonwood Park. Soon you will meet another playground and some horse statues. Maintain along the Lee Lateral Ditch Trail and you will pass a railroad display before crossing the street at Colorado Boulevard.

Continue trekking along the ditch and you will meet the trail’s end at the intersection of E 136th Avenue and Holly Street. From here, simply retrace your footing along the path, all the way back to the trailhead.
