The Huckaby Trail is a 5.7mi out and back trail that follows the course of Oak Creek in Sedona. This trail is easy enough for all skill levels and especially scenic in the fall when the colors are changing. Note that this route doesn’t provide direct creek access. Expect heavy traffic on this hike.

Huckaby Trail Description
The Huckaby Trail hugs Oak Creek and Highway 89A through northeastern Sedona, offering an easy hike that can be enjoyed by all skill levels and ages. This hike is easy to follow. We recommend planning this hike for the fall when the foliage is changing colors.
This hike is subject to some road noise, and there isn’t direct creek access. Prepare for some ambient noise to enjoy the route regardless.
The hike begins from the trailhead off Schnebly Hill Road. Head west and then north as the trail hugs a short cliff before descending closer to the creek. You’ll follow the creek and the road on an easy path. The trail ends just past the Midgley Bridge, where it crosses the creek to connect to the Oak Creek Spur A. You don’t have to cross the creek, especially if there isn’t a way to keep your feet dry. Turn back here and return to the trailhead.
