This is a great route if you enjoy exploring a variety of terrain.
Getting there
The trailhead for the Falstone Forest and River North Tyne Walk can be found in the heart of the village of Falstone, just across from the Falstone United Reformed Church.

Featuring a charming village, the winding banks of the River North Tyne, and tranquil swathes of woodland terrain, the Falstone Forest and River North Tyne Walk is a great adventure that will showcase the varied beauty of the Northumberland landscape.
Setting out from the trailhead, you will walk along the village streets to the northeast to leave Falstone behind, climbing uphill to enter into the cover of the forest. After reaching the top of the hill, you will enjoy scenic views overlooking the valley and the village below, before looping around and heading back downhill.
After once again passing through Falstone, you will continue on to the west until you reach the winding banks of the River North Tyne. Following the water’s edge tpo the southwest, you will complete another brief loop to arrive back in the village where you began your adventure.
