Live Oak Tank and Ivanpah Tank Trail Description
As the Live Oak Tank and Ivanpah Tank Trail is within the desert environment of Joshua Tree National Park, it is important that you prepare yourself for the desert climate. Ensure that you bring lots of water with you, and that you protect yourself from the sun with lots of sunscreen and a good hat.
Having located the trailhead at the eastern side of the Live Oak Picnic Area, follow the Live Oak Tank and Ivanpah Tank Tral southwest alongside the road. After the road ends, continue south, hugging the western side of a hill as you go. The trail will then veer to the east before once again turning south while gaining elevation. The Live Oak Tank and Ivanpah Tank Trail will then abruptly veer northwards as it takes you all the way back to the Live Oak Picnic Area, where your car will be waiting.
