Getting there
To get to the Forest Heights Park Trail from downtown Edmonton, make your way onto Rowland Road NW in the Riverdale neighborhood. Travel eastbound, crossing the river to the Riverside Golf Course. Find signs for Forest Heights Park on your right and park here to begin your hike.

Forest Heights Park Trail Description
Beginning at the riverside, the Forest Heights Park Trail starts by leading southbound along the river. Take the trail on the left side, so that you can make a full loop on your return staying closer to the river. You will be able to find solitude on this route as it can be quiet in the day. Enjoy the views at the many viewpoints and rest areas along the way. When you reach the Cloverdale neighborhood at a bend in the river, turn back and stay to the left, following the river’s edge for your return.
