Sofa Mountain Trail Description
Begin your trip to Sofa Mountain through the tall grasses in the meadow. You will be able to follow a faint track that leads to the base of the mountain, which is in clear view. The easy trail that leads to the mountain is straightforward despite being quite faint. When you reach the grassy ridge and begin your ascent, the trail starts to get more difficult. It is steep and straight up.
The ridge flattens briefly before rising again with extensive rock features. The trail becomes hands-on from here as you will come across some bouldery sections with rock chimneys. After gaining the rock faces, you will come to a flatter section, where you will be able to walk to the summit. There’s an option to descend the north ridge to create a lollipop; however, our route shows a regular out-and-back along the northeast ridge.
