The Vernal Fall Footbridge via John Muir Hike presents the perfect excuse to get the whole family out into the fresh air. Embark on your sweet nature walk along the Vernal Fall Footbridge via John Muir Trail from the Mist Trailhead. From here, track the John Muir Trail south along the Merced River and past the Happy Isles. Enjoy the shade of the towering pines and the path will soon curve east as you near the footbridge. Let the sounds of the rushing water lull you into a state of relaxation as you hike to the overlook.

From the Vernal Fall footbridge, you will be rewarded with breathtaking vistas of the mesmerizing waterfall cascading over the granite bluffs. If you still have some gas left in the tank, then continue further up to the Mist Trail to be guided along the famous waterfall. When you are ready, retrace your footing along the path back to the trailhead.
