Angel’s Staircase and Point Lace Falls Hike Description
If you are looking for an amazingly beautiful trail in Yoho National Park that requires little overall effort and produces some great views, then look no further than the Angel’s Staircase and Point Lace Falls Hike. This charming hike is well-maintained and doesn’t feature too much elevation gain, meaning the kids won’t be giving you the “are we there yet” before you’ve even left the parking lot. As this hike sets out from Yoho Valley Road near Takakkaw Falls, it is only accessible during the late-June to mid-October window.
Setting out from the parking lot, follow the trail to the northwest as it hugs the banks of the swift Yoho River and makes its way through the Takakkaw Falls Campsite. From here, you will traverse a stretch of wooden boardwalk and take in the stunning views of the President and Vice President mountains to the west. Continuing along the trail, you will eventually arrive at a junction in the trail. Head to the right here and follow the short path for some amazing views to the east of the Angel’s Staircase Falls as they trickle down the mountainside. Retrace your footsteps and follow the trail to the west for an equally beautiful view of the Point Lace Falls that cascade down a rock face. From here, head back along the same trail that you came in on to enjoy an opposite perspective of the park on your way back to the trailhead.
