Terrace Mountain Trail Description

The Terrace Mountain Trail is a scenic route in Yellowstone National Park. It is common to see wildlife, including bears, on this trail. Before heading out, ensure that everyone in your hiking party is familiar with bear safety protocols. At least one member of your hiking party should carry bear spray and know how to use it properly. The Terrace Mountain Trail is a truly gorgeous route that travels through meadows, aspen groves, and hoodoo-like boulders. With wonderful views at every turn, this trail is a great place to enjoy some peace and solitude in the Wyoming wilderness.

From the Bunsen Peak Trailhead, cross over Grand Loop Road and follow the Fawn Pass Trail along Glen Creek. Stay right where the trail divides to loop around Terrace Mountain, through the Hoodoos, and back to the start.

When you find yourself at the end of the circuit, cross back over Grand Loop Road to the Bunsen Peak Trailhead, where you began.
