Cornice Ridge Trail Description
Hiking the Cornice Ridge Trail is a great way to access the amazingly picturesque landscape within Stagleap Provincial Park and spot some local species of wildlife at the same time. This route is made up of fairly easy-to-navigate and non-technical terrain, making it suitable for hikers of most skill levels. The trail initially climbs uphill through the forests around Bridal Lake before reaching the top of Cornice Ridge. From there, hikers will need to hike northwest along the ridgeline to reach the panoramic viewpoint with a sightline that stretches in all directions. Due to the number of Caribou and sheep in the area, you will have a good chance at spotting them either along the trail or near the road, especially if you are able to bring some binoculars for an up-close view. Take some time to enjoy the views that encompass nearby mountain peaks within the park and extend south towards the Canada-United states border before heading back down the trail to your vehicle.
