O Circuit: Trek to Lake Dickson Trail Description

After completing the fairly tame Serón Sector, the O Circuit: Trek to Lake Dickson is a bit more on the challenging side – although still a walk in the park compared to what lies ahead! Several steep inclines will test your resolve, but fear not, as the incredible views overlooking glacial lakes will be well worth the effort.

Setting out from the trailhead at Camp Serón, you will make your way to the northwest along the west bank of the Río Paine. Here, you will traverse some relatively flat grassland terrain, before beginning the uphill climb through a small mountain pass.

After slogging up to the high point of the pass, you will have some breathtaking views that stretch out across the valley to the shores of Lake Dickson, your final destination for the day. Once you have taken in the views, follow the path as it leads to the southwest on a lengthy descent through the valley.

As you hike, take some time to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery and relatively light foot traffic that the northern part of Torres del Paine National Park has to offer. Eventually, you will approach the point where the Río Paine and Lake Dickson converge, completing a tough – but short – climb and descent to reach Camp Dickson.

After arriving at the campsite, you can get set up and spend some time exploring the area, before tucking in early in anticipation of tomorrow’s adventure, the O Circuit: Trek to Perros Glacier.
