O Circuit: Climb to Mirador Las Torres Trail Description

As the final segment of the world famous O Circuit, the Climb to Mirador Las Torres is an incredible adventure that will certainly not disappoint. In fact, if there is one adventure to complete in Torres del Paine National Park it is this one, which consequently makes it the most popular – in addition to being the most scenic!

While this trek can also be completed as a stand alone hike from the Torres del Paine welcome center, this route guide begins from Campamento Chileno in the Ascencio Valley, which is where the previous segment of the O Circuit (Ascencio Valley to Chileno) ended. In any case, the spectacular views at the Mirador Las Torres are well worth having to share the trail with other hikers, so strap up your boots and prepare for the hike of a lifetime!

Setting out from Campamento Chileno, you will follow the path as it leads to the northwest through the beautiful valley landscape. Here, you will follow closely alongside the Río Ascencio, crossing over to the opposite bank to traverse the lower slopes of Monte Almirante Nieto.

Keeping left at the junction, you will arrive at the edge of a moraine and climb up its rocky terrain in order to reach the shores of Lago Torres. Once there, you will be greeted by the mesmerizing view of the Torres del Paine before you, which tower above the glacial lake below. From left to right the jagged granite peaks are Torres d’Agostini, Torres Central, and Torres Monzino.

Take some time to explore the area and revel in the jaw-dropping views, before turning back along the trail for the long descent through the valley. After passing by Campamento Chileno, continue on to the southeast as the trail runs parallel to the river. Here, you will keep left at a series of junctions, eventually crossing over the Río Ascencio on the way toward the Torres del Paine welcome center to wrap up your time on the world famous O Circuit.
