Exploring Lost Dutchman State Park? The Treasure Trail and Siphon Draw Loop is one fun option to explore within the park’s network of trails. This loop offers significant bang for your buck with awesome views and a moderate, relaxed route that is suitable for most.

This hike can be easily extended or shortened thanks to the extensive web of trails in the park. You can add on an ascent of The Flatiron for a sky-high vantage point or wander across the ridge to the Superstition Mountains.

Of course, keeping it simple and doing this hike as-is is an excellent way to enjoy the park. Keep in mind that areas around the creeks are prone to flash flooding. We don’t recommend hanging out around here if there is rain in the forecast.

There are restroom facilities near the trailhead and lots of parking. Set out on the trail to your left, going straight through the first junction. Stay right at the Praying Hands Trailhead and left as you walk the base of the mountain in front of you. Beyond this butte, Peak 5024 and The Flatiron loom.

Should you want to climb up to The Flatiron, make sure you’ve come prepared with lots of water. It’s a tough trip! You’ll follow Siphon Draw Trail as it ascends a gully. The trail gets less easy to make out near the end, but you can hike between Peak 5024 and The Flatiron if you want to explore the ridge going east.

Siphon Draw Trail extends up to the peak of both mountains, but you’ll lose some elevation as you turn right and head back in the direction of the trailhead.

You’ll be continuing straight through the junctions that follow, passing another parking area with facilities en route to the trailhead.
