Getting there

To get to Swanbourne Lake from Arundel, head southeast on High St toward Maltravers Street and turn right. Then, turn right onto New Cut and turn left onto London Road. After 0.3mi, turn right to stay on London Road. After 0.1mi, keep left to stay on London Road, and you will arrive at your destination.

The Swanbourne Lake and Arundel Circular Walk is a captivating stroll around the emerald green lake. You will encounter some stiles, but don’t worry about getting your dog through as they have dog-friendly doors! This walk is great for the family as there aren’t very steep areas. It is a relaxing, enjoyable walk.

This walk takes you along the shores of Swanbourne Lake, where you can take in views of the intricately built Arundel Castle. Take your family and furry friend on a beautiful walk here and take a picnic to sit, eat and enjoy your surroundings.

At the beginning of the walk, you climb through a stile and follow the path that takes you along Swanbourne Lake. After taking in the views of the lake, you will walk along Mill Road towards Arundel Castle. Shortly after, you’ll leave Mill Road by taking a left onto Tarrant Street before taking a right onto King’s Arms Hill. 197ft later, head left onto Maltravers Street before turning right onto Mount Pleasant after 492ft of walking. Follow Mount Pleasant, veering left onto London Road. About 656ft later, go right to make your way back to where you began.
