Getting there
To get to Seaford Beach from the town of Seaford, head northeast on Blatchington Road toward Richmond Terrace and take a sharp right onto Broad Street North. Quickly turn right onto Clinton Place/A259 and at the roundabout, take the first exit onto Church Street. Immediately turn right onto Dane Road. In 0.2mi, turn left onto Esplanade and arrive at Seaford Beach in 0.2mi.

Seaford to Eastbourne Walk Description
This walk along Seaford to Eastbourne can be muddy and does travel along the seaside cliffs. Make sure you wear appropriate footwear and walk with caution as there are no guard rails along this path. The walk also takes you up and downhill along following the cliffs, so be prepared to get a bit of exercise! This is a one way path, so make sure you have a way to get back to your car when you begin.
The views that you will see along this walk are like no other. The ocean shimmers emerald green and reflects off of the white chalk cliffside as you walk along it. This path gives you a great level of exercise, but does not take it to an intense level—it is relaxing with a side of heart pumping areas.
Beginning at Seaford Beach past the row of colourful beach huts, you will see the beginning of this walk. You will continue along this path until you reach Cuckmere Haven, which showcases some of the most impressive views of the Seven Sisters cliffside on this path.
Passing the Coastguard Cottages, which were featured in the film Atonement, you will reach Cuckmere Beach. Opt to stop for a break and take a dip in the ocean or enjoy a snack along the shoreline. When you are ready, continue along the path, which during low tide would be straight ahead, and during high tide, when you cannot cross this area, you will head to the Cuckmere Inn and travel through that path.
Continue on this path, along the Cuckmere River for quite some time until you arrive at a fork in the road. You can travel towards the beach or head left towards the South Downs Way path. No matter which path you take, they will both meet in the same place at the top of the Seven Sisters cliffs.
As you move on, you will arrive at the busiest part of the path, the Birling Gap. This area houses a cafe, restrooms and a beach that is all accessible by car, so it draws crowds, especially in the summer months.
After this area, follow the path to the Belle Tout Lighthouse, where you will find ice cream and drinks. Continue from here to the Candy Cane Lighthouse at Beachy Head. You will come across a pub here, granting the option to relax or continue on.
As you walk a bit further, you will arrive at the promenade in Eastbourne, and this is where the hike ends.

Make sure you have a way of getting back to your car from Eastbourne as this is a one way hike from Seaford
Consider spending some time in Seaford and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the area. We recommend staying at Upper Rooms Seaford which is in an excellent location and can fit up to 8 people at the same time.
