Lac du Bois Hike Description

The picturesque scenery of Lac du Bois Grassland Provincial Park with its rolling hills, open blue sky, and countless lakes is enough to make anyone want to head out to the park and hit the trails. Combine them with an easy-going route along a wide, well-kept path that features a gradual incline to the lake and you have a winning formula for a great outdoor adventure that hikers of every skill level can enjoy. Just remember to bring your bug spray to protect yourself from the many insects that call the grassland terrain home.

Setting out from the trailhead, follow the path to the north as it climbs gently uphill alongside the creek. Reaching the bottom of a wooded slope, continue along the foot of the hill as the trail levels out a bit and passes by several small ponds on your right. Eventually, you will come to an intersection along the trail. Pass straight through it and hike beyond the small lake on your left to reach the edge of Lac du Bois straight ahead. On the approach to the lake, you will be greeted with some amazing views stretching across its calm waters that encompass the surrounding hills and mountains that characterize the picturesque landscape. After taking in the amazing views, head back along the same route to return to the trailhead where you began your hike.
