Embleton Mountain Trail Description
While there are a few steeper sandy sections, overall the Embleton Mountain Loop is a fun hiking route that the whole family will be able to enjoy, and with the hilltop picnic area and gazebo, what better way is there to spend a fun afternoon outdoors! Setting out from the parking area, head north along the road for a few hundred meters to reach a small fence crossing. Make your way over the fence and continue along the trail to the west as it heads into the thick cover of the forest. Continue following the trail signs to make your way uphill to the northwest as you work in and out of the tree cover. Eventually, you will pass by the picnic area on your left and reach the top of the trail where it intersects a road. After reaching this highpoint, head back to the picnic area to take in some amazing views overlooking the North Thompson Valley and the waters of Heffley Lake far below. After spending some time enjoying the views and having a nice picnic at the gazebo, follow the trail to the southeast. When you hit a fork in the trail, follow the path to the right for an alternate route back to the trailhead that will take you through the forest and over several charming streams.
