Brimham Rocks Walk Description

The Brimham Rocks Walk is a beautiful stroll along the countryside that boasts stunning views of the surrounding area. Beginning at the car park, follow the path to the Surprise View and take in the captivating scenery of Nidderdale. As you continue, you will pass through the famous oak tree, which is over 250 years old. You will come to Brimham House, where you can slightly go off course to see the viewpoint from the house. Once you are finished exploring this area, rejoin the path and turn left onto the tarmac road.

Follow this path up the hill, and you will see a left fork near a large rock and an amazing formation which is called the Dancing Bear Rock. Pass this formation, and you will see the Druids Writing Desk rock and Druids Idol rock. Pass Idol Rock, and you will see views of Dallowgill Moor (mind the steep drop below).

Following the path, take a sharp right where you will be met with Mushroom Rock in the distance and gorgeous views of Moorland ahead. You will see a large body of rocks called Middle Craig along the path, and as you continue, The Gorilla rock formation will appear. Continue along, and you will end up in a small valley which will lead you back to the carpark as this is a circular walk.
