Auchmore Circular Walk Description

The Auchmore Circular Walk is a great way to escape the city for an afternoon of peaceful scenery. Easily accessible from both Glasgow and Edinburgh, the walk is a favourite of those seeking a dose of nature and sleepy village life!

The walk begins at the Falls of Dochart in the village of Killin. From the parking layby follow the road that veers south, passing the Falls of Dochart Inn (signs for Ardeonaig and South Loch Tay). Following signs for Auchmore, enjoy the scenic path that gently climbs through pretty woodlands. Continuing along the trail, you’ll soon find yourself graced with views of the Kinnel stone circle, rising majestically in the distance. Eventually, the trail opens up to views of Loch Tay accompanied by Beinn Ghlas and Ben Lawers in the background. Cross a bridge suspended over the Auchmore burn and remain straight on the path, taking in the impressive Auchmore House. Soon, the path joins a minor road, which you’ll follow veering right to return to the village of Killin. A final crossing of the Auchmore burn will let you know you’re on the right track to complete the circuit back to the start point.
