Subway Cave Trail

As the Subway Cave Trail is primarily underground, a headlamp or flashlight is required to see for much of the route. Likewise, if you are someone who gets claustrophobic or is easily made uncomfortable when underground, this may not be the route for you. As it is underground, the temperature will also be cooler throughout the route, so we recommend bringing an extra layer.

Having arrived at the parking area, take the stairs downwards into the cave. Follow the cave pathway as it leads you first north, and then veers sharply to the southeast. Continue to follow this southeastern heading until the route once again changes course – this time to the southwest. You will soon arrive at a junction within the trail, where you are to take the northern pathway. Once past the junction, follow the trail as it delivers you to the trailhead and your waiting vehicle.
