The trail from Keswick to Honister Pass via Lodore Falls is a lengthy point-to-point adventure that will see you traverse some scenic Lake District terrain while out on the trail. This route will take you along the western shore of Derwent Water, before traversing Cat Bells on the way to visit Lodore Falls to the east. From there, you will continue south and climb uphill along High Spy before descending into the pass. Be sure to make prior arrangements for a pick up or plan to use public transit, otherwise you will have to walk back to your vehicle at the trailhead.
Getting there
To reach the Keswick to Honister Pass via Lodore Falls trailhead from Keswick, drive northwest on Main Street for 0.4mi and continue straight onto High Hill/A5271, following it for 0.8mi. Turn left onto the A66 and continue on for 0.3mi before making a left onto Portin Scale. Follow this for 0.9mi to arrive at the trailhead.

The walk from Keswick to Honister Pass via Lodore Falls is a great option for walking through the Lake District if you are looking to take in a variety of beautiful scenery without having to make the return trip on foot. Walkers can either plan a pick up ahead of time or utilize public transit stops that are conveniently located near the beginning and end of the trail. This amazing walking route will take you along the charming shores of Derwent Water, before climbing up a rugged ridgeline to get to the summit viewpoint atop Cat Bells. From here, you will head east across the valley floor to visit Lodore Falls and make your way south to once again climb uphill, traversing a series of fells. These include High Spy and High Scawdel, both of which offer some amazing views of the surrounding fells and valley floor. From here, you will descend the hillside into the pass, eventually arriving at the end of the trail.
